Peasant women's chorus; the ball
Director, Don Crerar; Musical Director, Paul Jeanes; Producers, Gaylene Parish and Cathy Doidge.
Tchaikovski's 'Eugene Onegin' was one of Kennet's best looking productions, with dozens of wonderful costumes created by the indefatigable Julia Radbourne. Don Crerar stepped in to direct after the indisposition of KO regular Janet Bennett, with Paul Jeanes again as MD. The piece was strongly cast with Lisa Benn as the ardent young heroine Tatiana, and newcomer Philip Borge as the aloof Onegin, with sterling support from Gaye Buchanan, Gordon Fry, Vikki Champion and Sam and Andrew Spaak in the minor parts.
